At the beginning of the book, Justice is mentioned to be dead, and was somehow killed by an outside force. Queen Fierce is shown mourning her death, and somewhat scared for the future of the Immortals. She also makes an appearance when Thorn is burying her, stating that she had to perform the burial rights by herself and she couldn't revive her.
